- Season Two -
Poulsbo 47.7 Hour Film Challenge
This event is a collaboration between the Poulsbo Film Festival and the recently founded Peninsula Film Commission. The intent of this program is to bring aspiring and professional filmmakers to the community of North Kitsap to produce an original short film over a span of just 47.7 hours!
The Poulsbo 47.7 Hour Film Challenge is back for the sequel! Set for April 10-12, the challenge invites teams to create original short films, ranging from 3 to 18 minutes in length, with at least one scene filmed in a required location in North Kitsap. The first-place winner will receive a $2,000 contract with the Peninsula Film Commission and the Poulsbo Film Festival Foundation to produce a cinematic sizzle reel/fake movie trailer to help promote filmmaking in the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas . We will also have a TDB cash award for the audience award!
The challenge kicks off with a launch event at Ty's Wine & Brew on April 10th from 5pm-7pm, where filmmakers will receive their official film parameters at 7 p.m. Films must be submitted by 7pm on April 12th via Dropbox, a download link, or a flash drive delivered to PFF staff who will be at Ty's Wine & Brew from 4-7pm.
“This event brings a variety of skilled and unique filmmakers to Kitsap County and highlights our regions beautiful and dynamic backdrop for storytelling,” said Kevin Sheen, co-founder of the Poulsbo Film Festival. “Our first year running this program was a major success and we can't wait to see what this group of filmmakers bring to the screen.”
Submitted films will be screened at the Port Gamble Theater on Sunday, April 26th, where both the first-place winner (determined by jurors) and the Audience Award winner will be announced. Doors will open at 5pm and the program will begin at 6pm. Tickets available online!
